Australia should take in 20,000 Rohingya refugees as crisis worsens: Greens

– It’s heartbreaking to see and I really have to say our country is big enough to place them in a less hostile environment.

Everald Compton:

– Australia must take a large number of refugees from Myanmar where Buddhists, whose religion is said to be based on peace and calm, are carrying out ethnic cleansing of Muslim Rohingyas in an appallingly brutal manner. However, we can welcome them while doing what is right for Australia.

We should carefully select those who have skills that we need or who have the capacity to have skills training. It is important that we do it with a sense of urgency.
